Peace Arch Ceremony

  • Possibly not? It depends on a persons ”status” in the US and what side you came in on, but I’ll have those details listed here and a map on this page for you before May 2.

The state park and the border patrol that work in the Peace Arch Park and Border Crossing are very experienced and very professional.

They deal with events that are much bigger and less planned than this one, and they take steps in advance to make sure visitors don’t accidentally do something stupid - stupid stuff makes their days longer and less enjoyable, so they are on our side 🙂

These measures include roping areas off, so there will be a nice clear line for us of where and where not to go 🗺️

▪️ We've chosen to get married in Peace Arch State Park - a harbour of openness and collaboration across borders, emblematic of our lives straddling countries, lands, and waters 🤝

▪️ The State Park also allows Canadians to walk to The American Kitchen in WA from the Peace Arch Provincial Park in BC 🍁

▪️ The Ceremony is a very small event, but the keystone to the rest of our lives together - we would love for the closest people in our lives to be there with us 💞

▪️ The Ceremony will be very casual, but just as important as anyone could imagine 💖 and probably also a little silly as we won't be doing any practice runs - but there will be plenty of folks among us who have done this before, so we know we're in good hands 🫶

Before May, there will be a little map here, with where we’ll park cars in morning, and how we’ll enter and exit from The American Kitchen to facilitate this lunch business.
